Discover the authentic Antioquian style of Filandia and Salento, two quaint towns that epitomize the Colombian Coffee region. With their colourful facades set against the green backdrop of the Cocora Valley, this journey promises an unforgettable experience.

Description

We'll pick you up at the indicated time at your accommodation in Armenia to start our tour through the Colombian Coffee Axis. A short drive will bring us to our first stop: the exotic Cocora Valley.

Do you want to discover the "secret of the thousand greens"? Amidst nature's beauty, we'll uncover the legend of the Cocora princess and stroll amidst the towering Wax Palms, some reaching an astounding 60 meters (196 feet) in height!

Then, we'll make a stop for lunch and, feeling refuelled, we'll make our way to Salento, where we'll continue discovering the Antioquian architecture. The colourful houses and the balconies covered with flowerpots create a picturesque scene. In Calle Real, we'll get into the local atmosphere, and after strolling through the town arrive at the Camino del Quindío, a historic route in the coffee region. In addition, we'll be able to explore Salento from the heights of the Alto de la Cruz viewpoint.

Afterwards, we'll head to the so-called 'Colina Iluminada', or 'Illuminated Hill', Filandia. Its colourful Antioquian-style buildings and the tranquillity of its streets have made this town one of the most picturesque in the coffee region. Did you know that Filandia means "daughter of the Andes"? We'll walk among its houses and local stores, and arrive at the Street of Stopped Time, 'la calle del Tiempo Detenido', where the houses have maintained their original structure and appearance!

Home to many coffee growers, this town will win you over with its colourful avenues and friendly locals. At the Central Park, a bustling town square, we'll have the chance to engage with the community. Here, we'll also enjoy a panoramic view of the iconic Templo María Inmaculada church, adorned in blue and white.

After an 8.5-hour tour, we'll finish the excursion by returning to your hotel.

Pickup Info

This tour includes pickup and drop-off from hotels in the centre of Armenia. If your hotel is located outside the city centre of Armenia (Via Montenegro, via Eden or La Tebaida and/or accommodation in Combia and Calarca), we'll meet you at the Transport Terminal of Armenia.
