Montmajour Abbey Ticket

Located in the heart of Provence, close to the city of Arles, the Abbey of St. Peter in Montmajour is one of the most outstanding Benedictine monuments of medieval origin in the south of France.

With your ticket to Montmajour Abbey you'll be able to explore the fascinating different rooms of this ancient monastery. Get lost in the beautiful cloister of Montmajour: a stunning example of Provencal Romanesque art. Don't miss out on the great chapter house, covered by a beautiful barrel vault that was a milestone at the time of its construction.

The ticket also includes a brochure that will tell you all about some of the abbey's most fascinating legends. Among them is the story of the True Cross. It is said that part of the original True Cross was kept as a relic by the monks of Montmajour. Whether this legend is true or not, the chapel of the Holy Cross is certainly a fascinating part of the abbey.

During your visit to Montmajour Abbey you'll also learn about how this magnificent place of retreat captivated Vicent Van Gogh during his stay in Provence. In fact, he portrayed the abbey in various engravings and drawings.
