Sillar Route & Yura Thermal Baths Tour
Sillar Route & Yura Thermal Baths Tour
After being picked up from your hotel in Arequipa at 8 am, we'll set off on one of the most historic places in Peru: the Sillar Route. We'll first make our way by minibus to the Añaswayq'u Quarries, where this stone is excavated.
Reaching the quarry, we'll learn all about sillar and its importance in the history of this area of Peru. As well as admiring the surrounding landscapes and their historic carvings, we'll watch local masons working with the stone in traditional methods.
We'll then visit the Culebrillas ravine, where we'll discover how over time the air and water have eroded the rocky landscape.
After exploring the Sillar Route, we'll head to Yura, where we'll visit its beautiful colonial-style church. We'll also stop at a viewpoint to marvel at the beautiful Andean landscapes of the region. Then, we'll head over to the thermal baths of Yura, where you'll have an hour of free time to soak in the waters and refresh body and mind.
At the end of the tour, we'll return to your hotel in Arequipa, where you'll be dropped off at 2 pm.
