Colca Valley 3-Day Tour
Colca Valley 3-Day Tour
Day 1: Arequipa – Chivay – Hot springs - Chivay
Let's go on an adventure! We'll leave Arequipa behind at 7:30 am and head to Chivay. On the way there, we'll skirt the Chachani Volcano and stop for about 15 minutes at the Salinas y Aguada Blanca National Reserve. Here, we'll spot some vicuñas in their natural habitat and admire the rock formations of the Andean community of Pata Wasi.
Next, we'll have a coca tea before admiring views of Colca Valley from the Volcanos Viewpoint, which is located at 15,748 feet (4,800 metres) above sea level. When we get to Chivay, we'll visit the main square and then head to the village of Coporaque for a tasty typical lunch.
Our tour will then take us to the La Calera Hot Springs, where you'll have the option of relaxing in the water and making the most of its medicinal properties.
At the end of the day, we'll return to Chivay to spend the night.
Day 2: Chivay – Colca Canyon – Chivay
Good morning! We'll have breakfast at 5:30 am and head to Colca Canyon, which is one of the deepest canyons in the world. While we're here, we'll gaze out at breathtaking views of the Cruz del Condor Viewpoint.
As we head into the Colca Valley, we'll visit the villages of Pinchollo, Maca and Yanque. Here, we'll discover colonial churches and viewpoints that'll offer us spectacular views of this Andean valley.
We'll head back to Chivay at noon, and you'll have the rest of the afternoon free to explore the town.
Day 3: Chivay – Coporaque – Arequipa
After having breakfast at the hotel, we'll head to Coporaque for an immersive experience with a local family. We'll join the village farmers as they carry out their morning tasks - get ready to help sow, harvest and prepare the land for farming while admiring views of the valley!
We'll then return to Chivay to pick up our luggage. From there, we'll head back to Arequipa and say our goodbyes at 5 pm.
