Rafting in Peñas Blancas

After picking you up from your hotel in Arenal, we'll head to the Peñas Blancas River. Surrounded by lush rainforest, volanic springs, waterfalls and canyons, we'll board our rafts and set off on a relaxing trip along the river.

During the raft ride, we'll admire the rainforest scenery of tall trees and tropical plants and enjoy the unique sounds of wildlife in the jungle landscapes of Costa Rica.

Many different types of animals inhabit the area, so if we're lucky, we may even spot monkeys, caimans, sloths, red frogs or bats. It's also very common to see tropical birds such as the kingfisher. 

After three and a half hours rafting through the magnificent Costa Rican jungle, we'll take you back to your hotel in Arenal.

Night Tour

The night tour takes place at 4:30 pm and we'll admire the nocturnal wildlife as we move slowly along the Peñas Blancas River. We'll see bats, monkeys, caimans, iguanas and nocturnal birds, such as owls, that nest on the banks. In addition, we'll pass by family-owned farms and stop at one of them to share a snack of coffee, bread, bananas and cheese at the end of our journey.

Important 

The wildlife that inhabits the area is very common in Costa Rica, however animals are unpredictable and we cannot guarantee how many or which species you'll see on the tour.

Pickup

The tour includes pickup and drop off at the main hotels in La Fortuna. If your accommodation is located elsewhere, you'll have to pay a supplementary charge on the day, which varies depending on location:

• Zone 2: Arenal Lodge, Lost Iguana, New Moon, Chachagua Forest, Chachagua Rainforest and Tilajari, 30USD each way.
• Zone 3: Leaves and Lizards, La Mansión, El Castillo, Rancho Margot, and Lands in Love, US$ 35 each way. Except for Observatory Lodge, which is US$ 40 round-trip.
• Zone 4: Nueva Arenal Hotels, Termales el Bosque, El Tucano, US$ 50 each way.
