I loved it. The walk through the pasture is a real spectacle of nature. Our guide Ana was showing us the plants along the way and their properties. Then we were surrounded by pigs and other animals that were on the farm. We learned a lot about the trees, cork oaks, holm oaks... and their fruits, acorns, the main food of the Iberian pig. Then we went to the ham drying room where they teach you to distinguish the different types, which was amazing. And finally the tasting ummm

Description

We'll meet at the indicated time, next to the Descansadero de Marimateos Park, on the outskirts of the town, and make our way to the source of the Odiel River. We'll walk along the trail through the Sierra de Arecena pastures, enjoying the natural beauty of the landscapes of this Natural Park. Our local guide will join us and tell us about the flora and fauna we'll encounter as we walk.

We'll then arrive at the estate where the Iberian pigs are let run free. We'll learn how they are raised and how this unique peninsular species lives, to ultimately produce very high-quality products. We'll then continue our guided tour by making our way us to the ham and cold meats factory. We'll visit the different rooms involved in the production process. In the natural drying and curing room we'll see how the ham is traditionally prepared and how the curing process is carried out.

In the final part of our tour, we'll take part in an authentic cured product tasting, including Jamón Iberico de la Bellota (Iberian Acorn-Fed Ham). This tasting will also include a Marqués de Aracena white and red wine. And if you'd like to purchase some other delicacies, the on-site shop will be open at the end of the visit.
