São Cristóvão Excursion
Options
When you make your reservation you can choose one of the following excursions to São Cristóvão. Both options include pickup at your hotel in Aracaju, transportation, and a Spanish and Portuguese–speaking guide:
4-hour excursion
We'll pick you up at the time of your choice and head to São Cristóvão, a city with more than 400 years of history. Did you know that this city was the first capital of the state of Sergipe?
Once we arrive in this monumental city, located just 16 kilometers (10 miles) from Aracaju, we'll go on a guided tour of São Cristóvão. On a walk through the historic area, we'll visit the Museum of Sacred Art and the Historical Museum, both of which exhibit outstanding pieces from the 16th, 17th, and 18th centuries.
We'll continue our tour of Aracaju visiting the main churches of the municipality and, finally, we'll return to Aracaju.
Schedule: at 9 am and 1:30 pm
Excursion with dinner (8 hours)
If you choose this option, after visiting the Museum of Sacred Art and the Historical Museum of São Cristóvão, we'll visit the Convento do Carmo, where we'll discover the secrets of a typical dessert called queijadinhas. We'll also learn the story of Sor Dulce, the first Brazilian saint who began her secular life in this very monastery.
Next, we'll go to a woodcutting workshop where a master craftsman will teach you the ancient technique of printing on wood, quite a refined process that requires a lot of concentration.
Finally, we'll go to a local restaurant to enjoy a delicious dinner. You can choose between a meat, fish, or chicken dish. There is also the option of salad or a shrimp pastry. After dinner, we'll return to your hotel in Aracaju.

This tour includes pickup from the hotels located in the central area of Orla de Aracaju. If you're staying in other areas of the city, we'll indicate an alternative meeting point.
