Rota do Cangaço is one of the main tourist itineraries along the course of the São Francisco River. Take in its captivating landscapes on this excursion from Aracaju.
Rota do Cangaço Excursion
We'll pick you up at 6:30 am at your hotel in Aracaju and set off for the towns located along the famous Rota do Cangaço. Ready to explore one of the most beautiful areas of northeastern Brazil?
The first stop will be in Piranhas, a historic town with colorful houses from the 19th century. In addition to admiring these beautiful homes declared National Heritage, we'll review the history of the cangaceiros led by Virgulino Ferreira da Silva, better known as Lampião. A surprising story!
We'll continue the tour of the Cangaço route by taking a boat ride on the São Francisco River. As we sail, see the beautiful contrast between the green vegetation of the forest and the ochre colors of the riverside rocks.
The cruise will then take us to the Cangaço Ecopark, where you'll have three hours of free time to swim in the São Francisco River and grab a bite to eat. Those who wish may also go on a short hike to the Grota de Angicos, the cave where Lampião died.
Finally, from Cangaço Ecopark we'll return to Aracaju where arrival at your hotel is set for 7 pm.
Hotel pickup
