Guided Tour of Petra
Private Tour of Petra
You'll be picked up from your hotel at 8 am, and from there you'll make your way to Petra, the capital of the Nabataean Kingdom and one of the treasures of Jordan.
You'll take a horseback ride to travel through the Siq, literally meaning 'the shaft', this is the main entrance to Petra and is a dim, narrow gorge (in some points no more than 10 feet (3 metres) wide). This passageway is approximately 0.75 miles long (1.2 kilometres) and when you make it to the other side you'll see first-hand why this is considered to be one of the Wonders of the World.
The first building you'll see is the city's most detailled ruin, Al Khazneh, also known as the Treasury. This is over 131 feet tall (40 metres) and was built in the 1st century BC. You'll also be able to see the Theatre and the numerous tombs that are housed here.
Once you've discovered this amazing rock city, you'll return to Aqaba at 4 pm, and you'll be dropped at your hotel.
