Sunset Trip to the Cuevas de Ajuy
Trip Details
At the designated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in the east of Fuerteventura before making our way to the western coast of the island. Ready to explore a fascinating volcanic landscape?
After a 45-minute drive, we'll arrive at Arco del Jurado. Starting at this natural monument, we'll begin an easy 4-kilometre (2.5-mile) hike that will take us through the Canary Islands' oldest geological space. Did you know that its underwater lava formations were created over 150 million years ago? Absolutely fascinating!
We'll have a break halfway through our hike to have an energy bar, some fruit, and water before reaching the Natural Monument of the Cuevas de Ajuy. This spectacular landscape is made up of beaches with black volcanic sand, impressive sea caves, and beautiful natural arches.
Additionally, we'll get to admire the Cuevas de Ajuy at dusk. The sunset over this part of Fuerteventura's western coastline is particularly beautiful, as the orange and scarlet light up the sea caves in a unique way.
After experiencing nightfall over the caves, we'll make our way to a local restaurant. Here, we'll enjoy a delicious dinner with views of the sea, which includes a tapas menu and a drink.
After dinner, we'll return to your hotel after a total of 5-6 hours.
