Antigua Guatemala + Villages Tour
Antigua Guatemala & Villages Tour
At the appointed time we'll meet at Oriente Street to start this tour of Antigua Guatemala. Are you ready to discover the historic centre of this small city in the south of the country? Let's get started!
The tour will begin with a stroll through Antigua Guatemala as we unveil many of the stories that took place in its streets. We'll pass by the Church of La Merced, the famous Arch of Santa Catalina and the Conventual Cloister, three of the most important points of the old town.
Afterwards, we'll go to Central Park, in the heart of Antigua Guatemala. There we'll see the exterior of the Town Hall, the Church of San José, the Archbishop's Palace and the Portal del Comercio. Our tour continues with a visit to the Tanque de la Unión - did you know that it was an old public washing place? We'll learn all about its history!
After getting to know the attractions of the historic centre of Antigua Guatemala, we'll move on to the surrounding colonial villages. We'll take a break for lunch on your own and, with your strength restored, the first village we'll visit is San Antonio Aguas Calientes. Did you know that many important historical events took place here? We'll tell you all about them!
Afterwards, we'll visit a macadamia farm in San Miguel Dueñas and, in Ciudad Vieja and San Juan del Obispo, we'll discover the ancient colonial culture of the region.
After eight and a half hours, we'll say goodbye at the meeting point in Antigua Guatemala - see you next time!
