Castel del Monte Bike Tour
After meeting in the parking lot of Castel del Monte at the time of your choice, we'll get on the bikes and start a route around this mysterious castle protected by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.
When booking, you can choose to take the tour on a standard bike or an electric bike. Whichever option you choose, the route will be 18 kilometers long.
We'll start pedaling around the border of Castel del Monte, a fortress built by order of Frederick II in 1240. Romantic, Gothic and Islamic elements combine perfectly in this castle in a design that follows some curious mathematical patterns. On the tour, your guide will tell you interesting facts about the fortress, like the significance of the number eight in the details of the facade.
Continuing along the perimeter of the fortress, we'll discover places where the monarch himself used to go hunting. You'll also see several examples of the famous trulli, the typical houses of the Apulia region characterized by their conical roofs.
After three hours of riding, we'll return to the starting point and the tour will end.
