Are you visiting the Netherlands and can't get enough windmill action? We've got you covered! At your preferred time, head to Overhoeksplein 51 in Amsterdam, and from here, we'll embark on an exciting adventure into one of the most beautiful villages in the Netherlands.
Following a short 30-minute drive, we'll arrive at our destination. Stepping off the bus, it'll feel like you're stepping back in time as you stroll among famous windmills and traditional wooden houses, dating back to the 17th and 18th centuries. Before you set off to explore, we'll provide you with a map and useful details to help you make the most of your visit. Then, enjoy 2 hours of free time to explore this charming village, filled with traditional Dutch houses.
During your visit, be sure to stop by the Bakery Museum, a national monument, where you can pick up some traditional Dutch sweets and see an authentic historic oven. Don't forget to ask about the history behind the curious wood carving above the shop door—the museum even owes its name to it!
As part of the experience, you'll also visit an authentic Dutch clog workshop to learn about how these iconic shoes are made. What's more, you'll also visit a cheese factory, where you can indulge in a cheese tasting.
To end the day on a high note, enjoy a stroll along the river, lined with traditional windmills, soaked in 18th and 19th century charm. The perfect finishing touch!
