The Life of Vincent van Gogh
Vincent Van Gogh was born in the Netherlands in 1853, the second child of what would be a family of eight. The Van Goghs were often seen taking walks through the area, instilling a love of nature in Vincent from a young age.
Initially, he pursued various careers, including working as an art dealer and a missionary, before becoming a full-time artist in his late twenties.
In 1886, he moved to Paris, where he encountered Impressionism, the art movement that would become his legacy. After relocating to Arles in 1888, Van Gogh produced many of his iconic pieces while struggling with mental health issues. He spent time in an asylum in 1889 and later lived in Auvers-sur-Oise, where he died from a gunshot wound on July 29, 1890.
