Texel Island Day Trip
Texel Island
At the time indicated, we'll meet at 151 De Ruijterkade and from this spot near the Port of Amsterdam, we'll head by bus to the Wadden Sea wetlands, a World Heritage Site.
Along the way, we'll cross picturesque North Holland countryside. This region in the Netherlands is famous for its traditional landscapes of farms, windmills and small charming towns located on land reclaimed from the North Sea.
These places, called polders, form part of typical Dutch postcards. We'll learn the history of these lands as we travel by bus to the port of Den Helder. Here, we'll catch a ferry that, in only 30 minutes, will take us to Texel Island. It's the largest in the Frisian archipelago!
Upon arrival on the island, we'll board a bus to start a tour of the island to discover its main tourist attractions. On this route, we'll pass through Duinen van Texel National Park and its iconic lighthouse, located on the most northern part of the island.
We'll continue our tour around Texel Island to one of its delightful towns, where we'll take a break at a restaurant. Here, we'll enjoy a traditional lunch which includes a typical Dutch dish.
After lunch, we'll head to the port of Het Horntje, in the south of the island, to take a return ferry to Den Helder. From here, we'll take a bus back to the meeting point in Amsterdam, where we'll arrive after 9 hours of activity.
