Body Worlds Amsterdam is part of the exhibitions created by Dr. Gunther von Hagens in which plastination, the process of preserving real human bodies for scientific research and medical education, is displayed.
Over the years, the content of the exhibition has varied depending on the subject matter, be it health, sports, diet, or animal anatomy. If you visit Body Worlds, you can learn how happiness affects the human body. In the museum, you'll admire 200 real plastinated bodies while you discover your own anatomy in a different way.
As you explore the different rooms, you'll learn the secrets of your body and its different functions in everyday situations. It'll a very educational visit!
Opening hours
Body Worlds Amsterdam is open every day of the year from 10 am to 10 pm.
Christmas period: on 24, 25 and 31 December, Body Worlds Amsterdam is open from 10 am to 5 pm; on 26 December, from 10 am to 10 pm; on 1 January, from 12 pm to 8 pm. Last entry is 1 hour before closing time.
On Saturday 27 April 2024, King's Day will be celebrated in the Netherlands, so the exhibition will be open from 10 am to 7 pm (last admission at 6 pm).
Please note that all of these opening hours are flexible and subject to change.
