See how Muslim and Christian cultures coexist in harmony on this excursion to As-Salt, a city located on the ancient road between Amman and Jerusalem.
As-Salt Harmony Trail Excursion
We'll pick you up from your hotel in Amman at 8 am and head west towards As-Salt, a picturesque town perfect for discovering the melting pot of cultures that coexist in Jordan.
Upon arrival, we'll start a guided tour of As-Salt, where we'll learn about the different Islamic and Christian symbols and inscriptions that appear in the architecture of the city's houses and places of worship. During this walking tour, we'll visit the Al Khader (St. George) Orthodox Church and the Great Mosque, two of the most remarkable sites in As-Salt.
What's more, the guide will talk about some of the most important episodes in As-Salt's history. For example, did you know that this city was the regional capital of the Ottoman Empire, or why its society is known for its sense of unity and community?
As the cherry on top, we'll go to the As-Salt lookout point, from where we'll have a breathtaking view of the Sea of Galilee (Lake Tiberias), Tur Mountain, and the Golan Heights.
Finally, we'll say our goodbyes back at your hotel in Amman around 2 pm.
