Leonardo da Vinci was one of the most enigmatic artists of the Renaissance and the castle where he lived the last years hides some fascinating secrets and legends. Discover them for yourself when you buy this fantastic ticket for the magnificent Chateau Clos Lucé.

Clos Lucé Castle

Located in the beautiful Loire Valley, Clos Lucé is one of the most famous mansions in all of France. The Florentine polymath Leonardo da Vinci spent the last three years of his life in this historic building. Befoe that, the Chateau was home to nobility such as Francis I or Marguerite de Navarre, a place full of history!

Today, the castle is a tribute to the life and work of da Vinci. In the basement, you will find numerous sketches of inventions that the artist imagined in 1450, some four centuries before they became reality, such as a tank, a siege bridge, and a helicopter.

Strolling through the gardens surrounding the palace, you will be able to see models of some of these precursor inventions. These are genuine feats of engineering!

Clos Lucé Chateau is one of the essential trips to make in Amboise. Furthermore, it is situated less than half a mile away from the city's famous castle. You will discover that both residences are linked by an amazing underground passageway.

As you walk through the different rooms of Clos Lucé, you will imagine what the artist's life was like in the chateaux. When da Vinci died at the age of 67, the main room of the mansion still housed his masterpiece: the Mona Lisa.

New immersive space

On the first floor of the castle, you can enjoy an immersive show in which the 17 masterpieces of Leonardo da Vinci are brought together in a single space. The exhibition offers the keys to understanding the painting process, from the preparatory drawing to the final painting. As the scenery of the exhibition unfolds, you'll get a unique vision and more in-depth knowledge of Leonardo da Vinci's work. Take in the entire pictorial legacy of the master in a single glance.

This new space houses 500 m² of galleries dedicated to Da Vinci's work with models, 3D animations and video games that will immerse people of all ages in the creative process of the Renaissance master.
