Amarante Guided Tour
Amarante Guided Tour
We'll meet at your selected time at the São Gonçalo Church church to begin our guided tour of Amarante. During our tour, we'll discover the fascinating history of this Portuguese city.
Home to the Tâmega River and the iconic São Gonzçalo Monastery, Amarante is a town full of culture, history and heritage.
Throughout the tour, we'll head inside the São Gonçalo Church and make our way through Amarante's many streets and alleys. We'll discover some of its main monuments as well as its most interesting stories and legends. You'll also find out about famous figures who've left their mark on the city, such as Antonio do Lago Cerqueira and Amadeo de Souza Cardoso.
Lastly, we'll finish off the tour by tasting some of the area's typical desserts with a tea or coffee - what a treat!
After a 2-hour guided tour, we'll say our goodbyes back at the starting point.
