Douro Region Tour
Douro Region Tour
At 9.15 am, we'll meet at the Casa da Calçada hotel in Amarante to start a tour of the historic center of this beautiful town in the Douro region.
We'll first cross the stone bridge of Sao Gonçalo and admire some of the most iconic churches and monuments in the old town of Amarante, such as the convent of Santa Clara.
Afterward, we'll take a minibus to Galafura, where we'll have incredible views of the entire Douro basin. To regain strength, we'll have lunch in a traditional restaurant where we'll discover the exquisite local cuisine. Lunch will consist of a main course and wines of the region.
Then, we'll hop back onto the minibus and drive to a winery in the Pinhão region to learn more about the deep-rooted wine-making tradition in this area. We'll see vineyards, visit the barrel rooms, and discover all the secrets of the local wine.
What's more, we'll enjoy a tasting of different varieties of wine as a finishing touch for this tour!
Lastly, we'll disembark and return to the departure point at 5 pm.
