Jari Canal Tour
Jari Canal Tour
Let's explore the piece of land that divides the Amazon River and the Tapajós! If so, we'll see you at the Tourist Information Centre in Alter do Chão bright and early at 9 am. Once everyone's arrived, we'll hop aboard the boat that'll be waiting for us just a few feet away and set off for the magnificent Jari Canal nature reserve.
We'll set sail across Verde Lake and come to the Enchanted Forest, which you can visit with a 40-minute canoe ride. Afterwards, we'll stop at the Ilha do Amor (Love Island), admire the Morro da Piraoca and continue our journey through Piranhas Lake - be careful, they bite! You'll then be able to take a dip in the water around Ponta do Cururu.
When we get to Moça Beach, we'll have some fresh fruit as a snack and then continue to Crocodile Lake. Afterwards, you'll have a 1-hour break to get some lunch in Ponta de Pedras. Once you've had something to eat, we'll arrive at the Jari Canal. You'll see how this incredible spot is full of giant Victoria Amazonica, iguanas and dozens of parrots - keep an eye out for the alligators on the shore!
As we start our return journey to Alter do Chão, we'll gaze at a beautiful sunset over the Amazon. We'll drop you off at the meeting point at 7 pm.
