At 9 am, we'll meet up at the Tourist Information Centre in Alter do Chão. From there, we'll head to the port where a boat will be waiting to whisk us away on a tour of the Brazilian Amazon.
To begin, we'll circle the city of Alter do Chão as we sail around Verde Lake and admire the tropical greenery that lines its 14 springs. We'll also stop at the Enchanted Forest to take a dip in the water and go on a 40-minute canoe ride - watch out for monkeys and sloths!
Afterwards, we'll circle the Ilha do Amor (Love Island) and gaze at its fine sandy beaches. We'll also pass by Lake Jacundá until we come to Lake Mureta, where we'll stop to walk along the semi-pristine beaches and swim in the Tapajós River - this is one of the most important tributaries of the Amazon!
Next, we'll cross Lake Jurucuri on our way to Pindobal Beach, where we'll learn about the importance of rubber in this region. At 1 pm, you'll have 2 hours of free time for lunch. We highly recommend grabbing something to eat in one of the typical huts. Once we've reconvened, we'll take a pleasant walk along Piranha Lake and admire lovely views of Piraoca Hill.
We'll then relax on Moca Beach and nibble on a selection of fruits. To round off our tour, we'll take a final trip on Crocodile Lake. We might even come across alligators and otters as we cruise through this tranquil haven!
It'll then be time to drop you off at the starting point in Alter do Chão at 7 pm.
What's the boat like?
You'll set sail aboard a boat with four different spaces. In addition, you'll have equipment for kayaking and paddle surfing, a barbecue and music on board.
