Amorim Cove Tour
Amorim Cove Tour
At 9 am, we'll meet up at the Tourist Information Centre in Alter do Chão. Once we've all arrived, we'll walk a few feet to the boat that'll take us along the Tapajós River. We'll hop aboard our boat and start our tour through the Brazilian Amazon until we come to Amorim Cove.
During the boat trip, we'll pass by Mureta and Jurucuru Lakes and Pindobal Beach. We'll also make stops at Cajutuba Beach and the Santo Domingo dunes to take pictures of the beautiful scenery. Next, we'll pause in Jamaraquá to have some pineapple, watermelon, banana, apple and coconut.
After enjoying this fruit selection, we'll cross the last stretch of the Tapajós to get to the region of Amorim. We'll set sail for the Cabeceira do Amorim, where we'll hop into a smaller boat to navigate the canals and low water level.
As we set off in our traditional boat, we'll observe the Igapos or the flooded forests of the Amorim Cove as well as its greenery and wildlife. At around 1 pm, we'll eat a typical dish and then learn about the locals' way of life.
We'll then head to Cabeceira do Amorim, where we'll get back on the boat that'll take us on the return journey to the starting point in Alter do Chão. We'll arrive back at the starting point at 7 pm.
