To climb Mount Pilatus from Alpnach, go to the following address: Brüningstrasse 2, where you can board the world's steepest Cogwheel railway, which has a section with a gradient of 48%!
In just 30 minutes, this rack railway will take you up to the Pilatus Kulm station. You'll enjoy an incredible journey through beautiful meadows and alpine forests that will absolutely take your breath away.
Once you reach the Pilatus station, you'll be able to hang out and enjoy the view from the lookout point. There is also a panoramic restaurant with magnificent views of the Alps.

Cable Car from Kriens
The train to Mount Pilatus from Alpnach is only in service between May 17, 2024, and November 17, 2024. If you wish to go during the winter season, we recommend checking out this ticket to the Mount Pilatus cable car from Kriens.
The cable car is closed due to maintenance work from October 21, 2024 to November 08, 2024. During this time Mt. Pilatus can be reached by cogwheel railway from Alpnachstad.
