On this day trip to Guadalest, Altea, and Fuentes del Algar we'll explore the charm of these gems in the Valencian Community. You'll love it!

Day Trip Details

At the designated time we'll meet at Lonja del Pescado in Alicante, where we'll hop on a bus towards Guadalest. On this 60km journey (37 miles), we'll leave behind the blue Mediterranean in favor of the colors of the Guadalest reservoir.

After an hour, we'll reach this charming medieval village and have a guided tour where you'll discover its most emblematic spots. You'll learn all about the history of the San José Castle, a fortress surrounded by mountains that offer spectacular scenic views. We'll also get to admire the baroque church and the Town Hall Square.

Despite its small size, Guadalest has numerous exhibitions, amongst which, the Museum of Microminiatures, the Microgiant Museum, the Salt and Pepper Shaker Museum, and the Ethnological Museum are all real highlights. You'll have a chance to visit them if you want during our free time.

We'll then return to the bus and, after just half an hour, we'll reach Altea, the second stop on our day trip. Here, we'll take you on a tour of the narrow cobbled streets in the historical center. We'll get to admire its iconic white houses with balconies decorated with flowers, as well as Consuelo Church and its vaults, which can be seen from any point in Altea.

Once our walking tour is concluded, you'll have some free time to continue exploring the town's viewpoints, walk along the beach, and try some of the local cuisine in its restaurants with views of the Mediterranean. The perfect plan!

Afterwards, we'll make our way to Fuentes del Algar, a fascinating natural site made up of spectacular waterfalls that boast of great biodiversity in its surroundings. In fact, Algar's springs have been labeled a Protected Wetland Area due to their environmental richness. You'll also have some free time here to take a dip in the springs and enjoy the area.

After an 11-hour day trip, we'll return to our starting point in Alicante.

Itinerary Adjustments

Between October 2024 and March 2025, the order of the trip will change to make the most of the daylight. Our first stop will be Fuentes de Algar, continued by Guadalest, and finally Altea before returning to our original meeting point in Alicante.

On the journeys from Alicante to Fuentes del Algar and from Altea to Alicante, there will be a rest stop in Benidorm.
