Join us on this captivating day trip to the San José Caves from Alcocéber, where we'll venture into underground caves featuring a subterranean river with crystalline waters.
Description
We'll gather at the Alcocéber Tourist Office at the designated time and set off on our excursion to the San José Caves, an extraordinary location within the region of Valencia.
After an hour's road trip, we'll arrive at our destination. The San José Caves are located in the municipality of Vall d'Uixo, nestled in the heart of the Sierra Espadán Natural Park. Are you prepared to explore the longest navigable underground river in all of Europe?
Our tour through the caves will last about 40 minutes. This adventure will include a boat trip along an 800-meter (about half a mile) subterranean river, followed by a walking tour through a dry gallery spanning 255 meters (835 feet). You'll be astounded by the unique underground world that unfolds before you!
Throughout our excursion, we'll share fascinating fun facts about the San José Caves. For instance, did you know that the cave maintains a constant temperature of 20 degrees Celsius throughout the year? Furthermore, despite extensive investigations by speleologists, the river's origin remains a mystery. And not only that, but the cave's ultimate endpoint is also unknown.
After our exploration of the San José Caves, we'll proceed to Calzados Segarra and visit the museum of the oldest footwear company in Spain, where we'll gain insight into the rich history of this establishment, founded in 1882.
Five hours later, we will conclude our San José Caves excursion as we return to Alcocéber.
