Alagón + Alcántara Reservoir Boat Trip
At the time of your choice, we'll meet at the El Bañaero jetty on the José María Oriol reservoir, also known as the Alcántara reservoir. There we'll board a boat and begin a pleasant trip on these beautiful waters.
First we'll approach the great concrete wall of the Alcántara dam, inaugurated at the end of the 1960s with the aim of regulating the flow of the Tagus river.
Then we'll leave the Alcántara reservoir behind us to enjoy a boat trip on the river Alagón, the longest tributary of the Tagus. We'll be able to see the quarry, from which the material was extracted to build the dam and we'll take a look at the wildlife that inhabits this riverside spot.
We'll sail through a beautiful natural environment famous for its varied bird life. We'll use binoculars to try to spot as many birds as possible! With a bit of luck we might see griffon vultures and even black storks - keep your eyes peeled!
After an hour and a half of sailing, we will finish the boat trip arriving back at the departure pier.
