On our Chichén Itzá, Coba & Ik Kil Cenote Day Trip from Playa del Carmen, you'll explore two of the most important archaeological sites in the Yucatán Peninsula. You'll also swim in a magical cenote.
Description
At the designated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel. From there, we'll begin our journey to Chichén Itzá, the most famous archaeological site in Mexico.
When we arrive at Chichén Itzá, we'll immerse ourselves in this important vestige of the Mayan civilization. Due to its historic significance, this site was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1988 and one of the New 7 Wonders of the World in 2007.
While we reveal the fascinating history behind this place, we'll visit its key points of interest. These include the Temple of Kukulcán, the Temple of the Warriors, the Platform of Venus and the Great Ball Court. You'll then have 1 hour of free time to explore the area at your own pace.
Afterwards, we'll go to the Ik-Kil cenote, the most famous cenote in the Yucatán Peninsula. When we get there, you'll have 45 minutes of free time to swim its paradisiacal turquoise waters. Following a relaxing dip, we'll get our energy back with a delicious buffet lunch.
Next, we'll head to the final stop on our day trip: The archaeological site of Cobá. We'll take a guided tour here and marvel at its impressive and historic ruins. During our visit, we'll even be able to see Nohoch Mul, the highest Mayan pyramid in Yucatán, from the base.
We'll then return to your hotel, where we'll arrive after a total of 10 hours.
