We saw lots of fish and turtles. The cave cenote was beautiful. Both were nice experiences. The snack that was advertised was just two tasteless empanadas. Although they also gave us hibiscus water and a banana and a bottle of water after snorkelling.

Explore two of the most beautiful spots on the Caribbean Coast on this trip to Akumal Bay and Balam Reserve. Are you ready?

Day Trip Description

Between 7 and 7:30 am, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Riviera Maya and then head off to Akumal Beach to start our tour.

Once we get to the beach, we'll change into our snorkeling gear to explore this sea turtle sanctuary, where we can find hawksbill, and loggerhead, and green turtles. Fish stocks, stingrays, and many more await you amidst the coral as well.

Then we'll set off to Balam Reserve, and along the way, we'll have time to regain our strength and eat a sandwich. Before entering this amazing cave, we'll put on protective gear to be safe while exploring the grotto.

Finally, we'll leave this magical spot and head back to Riviera Maya, arriving at your hotel 5 hours after initial pickup.

Hotel Pickup

The tour includes hotel pickup in Playa del Carmen, Akumal, Puerto Morelos, and Puerto Aventuras.

Pickup at hotels in Tulum has a supplement of US$ 10 per person to be paid directly at the destination. If you prefer, you can go to this meeting point in Tulum: Super Aki Tulum at 9 am.

La guida era super. Bravissimo, gentile molto preparato e attentissimo alle persone. Voto 10+. Trasporto ok. La parte delle tartarughe ad Akumal non è bellissima, se fate Cozumel non ne vale la pena di passare ad Akumal. Il cenote chiuso era super e la guida ci ha spiegato benissimo tutto. The turtle part in Akumal is not beautiful, if you do Cozumel it is not worth it to go to Akumal. The closed cenote was great and the guide explained everything very well. Nos ha gustado mucho, el guia Paco muy simpatico y atento. No le pongo exclente porque cuando coges la excursion no te explican que deberas pagar 15 dolares por persona a parte de la excursion qie has pagado para entrar en la reserva, incluso los niños deben pagar lo mismo. We liked it a lot, the guide Paco was very nice and attentive. I do not call it excellent because when you take the excursion they do not explain that you must pay 15 dollars per person apart from the excursion that you have paid to enter the reserve, even children must pay the same.
