Mangystau Tour: 3 Days by Jeep

Day 1: Aktau - Torysh - Sherkala - Kogez

On the first day, we'll pick you up from the arrivals area of Aktau Airport, ready to begin our three-day Jeep tour of the Mangystau region of Kazakhstan.

Our first stop will be Torysh, one of the most fascinating places in Mangystau thanks to the numerous ball-shaped rock formations dotted throughout the valley.

We'll then make our way to Sherkala, an unusually shaped mountain crowned by the remains of a fortress that once served as a watchtower and guard on the legendary Silk Road. Afterwards, we'll go to the Kokala Canyon, where we'll admire the spectacular range of colours of the rocks. On the way, we'll enjoy a light lunch on board the SUV.

The off-roading route will continue to Kogez, located near Mount Sherkala, where we'll spend the night in tents traditionally used by nomads. After settling in, you'll have free time to relax for the rest of the evening.

Day 2: Kogez - Tuzbayir - Boshzira

We'll get up early for breakfast, before heading to the first stop of the day: Tuzbayir, one of the natural wonders of Kazakhstan. We'll explore the area to see the incredible "stone waterfall" that has formed where the Ustyurt plateau ends - a truly impressive sight.

Afterwards, we'll have lunch in the 4x4 while driving to Boshzira, a mountainous area that has become one of the most visited places in the Mangystau region for its unique rock formations.

We'll make the most of our time here, spending the night in tents under the stars surrounded by idyllic landscapes - an unforgettable experience!

Day 3: Boshzira - Aktau

Our final day will begin with a delicious breakfast in nature, after which we'll set off to visit Mount Bokty, a mountain which appears on the Kazakhstani 1000 tenge note. This natural feature is famous for the fact that it seems to change shape depending how you look at it.

We'll then get back in the 4x4 Jeep for the drive back to Aktau, where we'll drop you off at the airport in time for your onwards journey, after three days discovering the wonders of Kazakhstan's Mangystau region.

Accommodation

This three-day tour of Mangystau includes two nights' accommodation. On the first night, you'll stay in a traditional Kazakh tent in the Etnoaul Kogez, and on the second night you'll stay in a tent in the Boszhira area.

Overnight flight

If you take an overnight flight to Aktau and arrive in the early morning, you can book the option to stay in a hotel when you arrive in the city. This includes three star bed and breakfast accommodation for your night of arrival so you can be well-rested ready for our three-day tour.

What do I need to do this tour?

All you need to do this tour is a return flight to Aktau, arriving on the first day you've booked and returning two days later. So, if you arrive on a Monday, you should book a return flight for Wednesday.

Visa

Depending on your nationality, you may need a visa to enter Kazakhstan. Make sure to check the entry requirements via the Kazakh immigration services website or at your Kazakh embassy.
