Entrance to Lavender Fields

The lavender fields of Provence are one of the natural treasures of the south of France. When the lavender blossoms between June and August, this area is tinged with a beautiful shade of purple!

With this entry to a lavender field in Aix-en-Provence, you'll visit the Terre Ugo estate. Around 30,000 lavender plants are cultivated on this 7-hectare family farm!

During your visit, you'll find a type of lavender called Lavandin Grosso. This variety, which comes from a natural hybridization, usually grows on plateaus located between 656 and 3,280 ft (200 and 1,000 meters) above sea level. As you'll see, it's a 100% organic crop!

Throughout the field, you'll find several shaded areas and sun loungers where you can relax while admiring the violet landscapes. You can also make use of a petanque court, a very popular sport in France!

Although the visit to the field is not guided, you can ask the staff of the estate any questions you may have. Also, if you decide to visit at the end of August, you'll get to see the lavender harvesting process!

The duration of the visit to the lavender field is estimated between 1.5 and 2 hours, although you can stay on the farm until closing time.
