Arles, Saint-Rémy & Les Baux Day Trip
We'll pick you up at 9 am from the tourist office in Aix-en-Provence and set off on an hour's journey to Saint-Rémy-de-Provence.
When we arrive we'll visit Les Antiques, famous Roman monuments that marked the entrance to the ancient city of Glanum. Then you'll get to explore Saint-Rémy at your leisure and discover its charming streets. Did you know that Vincent Van Gogh was admitted to the old sanatorium in this town? If you do the tour on a Wednesday, you'll aslo get to visit the beautiful local market.
Our next stop will be Les Baux-de-Provence! You can visit its magnificent fortress, located at the top of the Alpilles, and admire the vast fields that surround this charming village. In Les Baux, those who wish can enjoy the sound and light shows of the Carrières des Lumières (entrance fee not included).
Then we'll head to our last stop: Arles, where Van Gogh also lived. The landscapes will probably remind you of his works! You can visit the Roman amphitheatre and, if you come on a Saturday, you'll also get to visit the Provencal market.
We'll arrive back in Aix-en-Provence at 5:30 pm.
