Real de Asientos & Tepezalá Tour
Real de Asientos & Tepezalá Tour
At 10 am, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Aguascalientes and set off for the town of Tepezalá.
There we'll visit the Antonio Reyna Museum, where we'll learn about the history of the Tepezalá through fascinating exhibitions of historic objects and information panels. We'll also learn all about the Guachichil and Chichimeca people.
Afterwards, we'll see the Church of Nuestro Señor de Tepezalá, a temple dedicated to the image of the Black Christ. We'll learn this intriguing legend before visiting the Church of Nuestra Señora del Refugio to see its gold filigree and striking wallpaper decoration.
We'll then head to the Magical Town of Real de Asientos. As soon as we arrive, you'll be struck by its charming colonial architecture built of pink stone. We'll visit the town's Mining Museum to see a large collection of rocks extracted from the local mine, as well as transport wagons, drilling tools and even mammoth bones.
Next, we'll go a few metres underground to see some 17th century tunnels built to prevent damp in the churches, as well as admiring the local pantheon and ossuary.
On the outskirts of Real de Asientos, the ex-Convent of the Señor del Tepozán awaits us. This architectural gem houses a multitude of religious objects and artefacts belonging to the Huachichil people.
Finally, we'll make our way back to Aguascalientes, where we're expected to arrive at your hotel at 3 pm.
