Aguascalientes Haciendas Tour
Aguascalientes Haciendas Tour
At 10 am, we'll pick you up from your hotel to start our tour of the historic haciendas of Aguascalientes.
First, we'll visit El Chichimeco, an 18th century hacienda that belonged to the Armillita family, a family dedicated to bullfighting. We'll tour the farmhouse to see the bullfighting artefacts on display in its rooms, including costumes, trophies and newspapers.
We'll then travel to the Garabato Hacienda and the neoclassical Basilica of San Isidro. We'll explore the hacienda, one of the first dedicated to the breeding of fighting bulls in Mexico, and learn about the sport.
Next, we'll visit San Blas, a 17th century agricultural hacienda home to the Insurgencia Museum. Strolling through its porticoed courtyard, we'll get to learn about the deposition of Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla and the Battle of Calderón Bridge. Did you know that this plot of land stands next to the Camino Real de Tierra Adentro, a 2560-kilometre trade route ran from Mexico City to Santa Fe?
At 1 pm, we will drop you back at your hotel.
