Dolphin Sighting & Ships' Graveyard Cruise in Adelaide
Dolphin Sighting & Ship Graveyard Cruise
At the indicated time, we'll meet at McLaren Wharf in Port Adelaide and begin this exciting cruise. Get ready to witness the natural beauty and rich history of Adelaide’s waterways!
As soon as we board our boat, our adventure around the coast of Adelaide will begin. From the get-go, we'll be treated to stunning views as our guide tells us all about the local history and famous ships we'll encounter along the way.
The Port Adelaide River is full of stories, from its maritime past as a trading hub. As we sail, we'll observe famous shipwrecks and landmarks, each with its own story. We'll see massive wrecks, half-submerged in the waters of the Port River, and learn their fascinating stories.
Next up, we'll make our way to the Adelaide Dolphin Sanctuary, home to one of the only wild dolphin populations that live within a city. Keep your eyes peeled for some of the famous local dolphins. In the warmer months, we might even spot newborn calves!
Continuing on, we'll head towards the International Bird Sanctuary for a chance to see migratory shorebirds, including threatened species such as the Curlew Sandpiper. We'll also see well-known Aussie favourites like the Australian Pelican and Pied Cormorant.
Finally, after a total of 1.5 hours, we'll bring this cruise to an end.
Important
Dolphins are fairly unpredictable creatures, so we can't promise a sighting. The chances of spotting them depend on various natural and weather-related factors.
