Tour of Accra
Between 5 and 6 am, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Accra to start a tour of the main points of interest in the capital of Ghana. We'll tour both by foot and by minibus so that we can explore the whole city!
The first stop of the day will be at the National Museum of Ghana, an ideal place to get in touch with the culture, history, and heritage of the country. Then, we'll continue to delve into the past by visiting Independence Square, where we'll find many monuments that commemorate Ghana's independence struggle.
Afterwards, we'll head to Jamestown, one of the oldest districts of Accra. We'll see its 1871 British lighthouse and admire the pre-colonial houses while we learn about what it was like here during the slave trade era.
Then, we'll have an authentic Accra experience by visiting the Makola market. While strolling among its various stalls, you can take the opportunity to purchase a typical Ghanaian handicraft!
Next, we'll see the W. E. B. Du Bois memorial, the resting place of this famous pan-Africanist, and the Center for National Culture.
Finally, we'll end the tour and drop you back off at your hotel between 11 am and 12 pm.
