Cape Coast Day Trip
Cape Coast Day Trip
At the indicated time, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Accra and embark on a tour of Cape Coast to see the best of the Central Ghana region! Ready for an adventure?
Our first stop will be at Kakum National Park, one of the most visited places in Ghana. Did you know that it's hidden in the Kakum Rainforest? This area stands out for its incredible 40-meter suspended bridge that offers a fascinating view of the forest and wildlife of the area.
Next, we'll stop at Hans Cottage Botel to rest and relax for a moment. This lodge is built on a pond and has a swimming pool surrounded by lush vegetation. Here, you'll also be able to see crocodiles, turtles, and different species of birds. Before continuing the tour, we'll take a break so you can have lunch on your own.
Then, we'll head to Elmina Castle! Castelo de São Jorge da Mina was the original name the Portuguese gave to this fortress when they erected it in 1482. Did you know that this castle is the oldest castle located below the Sahara? Initially founded as a trading colony, it became one of the most important locations for the Atlantic slave market.
Finally, we'll arrive at Cape Coast Castle, one of the largest fortresses still standing in Ghana and today a museum. As we tour this place, we'll tell you lots of interesting facts about the relationship of this castle with the gold and timber trade after Sweden conquered Cape Coast.
After a 12-14 hour tour, we'll drop you back off at your accommodation in Accra.
