At the indicated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Acapulco and take you to the Coyuca Lagoon. After just 1 hour we'll be at our destination, a paradisiacal spot where we'll admire the stunning environment and take part in a sea turtle release.
Once we arrive, we'll set out on a boat trip to explore a part of this 10.5 mile (17 kilometre) lake. During the boat ride, we'll admire the dense vegetation surrounding the lagoon and incredible views of the Sierra Madre. If we're lucky, we may even see some pelicans, avocets and herons in the mangroves, so watch carefully! You might also recognise this location from film sequences in Tarzan and Robinson Crusoe.
We'll then get off the boat on the beach and visit the sea turtle protection centre, where we'll learn about the threats faced by baby turtles due to pollution and indiscriminate fishing. You'll get to release baby Olive Ridley sea turtles into the sea so they can escape predators, which will be a truly rewarding and memorable experience.
Lastly, we'll recover our energy with a delicious lunch in which you'll be able to choose between fish, chicken Milanese, and shrimps. These dishes will be accompanied by soup, whiting, salad and a drink.
After lunch, we'll take you back to your hotel in Acapulco where we should arrive after a total of 6.5 hours.
Pickup
This activity only includes pickup from hotels in the Zona Dorada. If you're staying in other areas, you must make your own way to the meeting point located on Avenida Costera Miguel Alemán.
