Ice Climbing in Abisko
Ice Climbing in Abisko
At the indicated time, we'll pick you up at the meeting point and make our way to the base. Ready for a once-in-a-lifetime arctic experience?
Ice climbing is a very popular activity in Abisko, renowned as one of Sweden's premier locations for this sport. The area boasts a wide range of icefalls, perfect for both novices and seasoned climbers. The abundance of icefalls, along with the stunning scenery of the Abisko Mountains and Lake Torneträsk, makes ice climbing in Abisko an unforgettable experience.
First things first, we'll get you fitted with your ice climbing equipment, including alpine boots, crampons, a harness, and a helmet. After getting geared up, you'll enjoy a short drive to the icefall. Upon arrival, our guide will take us through the first basic steps of climbing vertical ice and teach us how to handle ice climbing crampons and ice axes.
As we start climbing, our guide will be there to assist and encourage you every step of the way. Feel the thrill of scaling the icefall and take in the spectacular arctic surroundings. We'll have the chance to practice and improve our skills on various sections of the icefall, all while surrounded by the stunning landscape.
Finally, after a total of 3 hours, we'll bring this adventure to an end back at the starting point.
