Las Catedrales & Lugo Beach Tour
Description
We'll meet in the morning, at the indicated time, in the square of Pontevedra to head towards the walled city of Lugo, an hour's drive from La Coruña.
First, we'll take a guided tour of the historic centre of Lugo for an hour. We'll discover its famous city walls and admire the cathedral of Santa Maria, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with a mixture of Romanesque, Gothic, Baroque, Renaissance and Neoclassical styles.
After strolling through the streets of Lugo and discovering its history, we'll go to Ribadeo. We'll walk through its streets and learn all about the Galician migration to Latin America. We'll admire its Indian houses, a reflection of this population movement.
We'll then leave Ribadeo and head for the beach of Las Catedrales, one of the most beautiful beaches on the Iberian Peninsula. As we stroll along its fine white sand, we'll admire the rock formations that give it its name and which evoke the flying buttresses of the Gothic cathedrals.
Finally, we'll return to the bus that will take us back to the starting point in La Coruña. We'll finish the excursion after 9.5 hours.
