Finisterre & Costa da Morte Day Trip
Finisterre & Costa da Morte Day Trip
We'll meet at the indicated time in the Praza de Pontevedra, in the centre of A Coruña, ready to start our day trip to Finisterre and the Costa da Morte. Are you ready to spend a day exploring the Galician coast?
The first stop of the trip will be in one of the most mystical places of the Costa da Morte: the lighthouse of Cabo Vilán. Here, we'll learn all the legends and shipwrecks that have happened there and that have given this mythical spot its unique feel.
Afterwards, we'll continue our excursion to the Sanctuary of the Virgen de la Barca in Muxía, one of the most important places on the pilgrimages to Finisterre, once believed to be the End of the Earth. We'll learn about the church's close links to Galician sailors and the Celts.
We'll then make our way to Cape Finisterre, where we'll discover the stories and naval battles related to this emblematic place in Galicia. And of course, we'll also make the most of the spectacular views it offers too!
Later, we'll reach the beautiful village of Finisterre, where you'll have free time to have lunch and taste the delicious local cuisine. After you've eaten, the Ézaro Waterfall awaits us. You'll learn why this waterfall is unique in Europe while we walk along its footbridge and enjoy the mesmerizing beauty of its surroundings.
As the finishing touch on our tour of Costa da Morte, we'll visit the Hórreo de Carnota, one of the largest of its kind in the world!
We'll then return to the starting point in A Coruña after 9.5 hours of exploring.
