Galician Cooking Workshop+ Market Shopping
When booking, you can choose between three options. Each starts at Rúa Alfredo Vicenti in La Coruña and offers the opportunity to learn all of the secrets of Galician gastronomy. Below, you'll see the three options:
Tapas workshop (1.5 hours)
We'll meet at the indicated time for an introduction to the menu we'll be sampling, and the tasks needed to be done, before we set to work!
Once we understand more about the ingredients we'll be using, we'll start following the chef's instructions to get the most out of the fresh Galician products, turning them into brilliant tapas.
During this class, we'll learn how to create some of the most traditional tapas, depending on the availability of the ingredients. We usually prepare chicharrones toast with local cheese, prawn salpicón, mussels cooked in Godello wine, raxo a la gallega with patatas bravas, and the famous Santiago cake, just to name a few.
Once we've prepared our dishes, we'll taste the Galician fruits of our labor. Enjoy!
Schedule: Tuesday to Friday at 2:30 pm
Cooking Workshop(2 hours)
When participating in this cooking class, we'll learn how to prepare traditional Galician dishes as we discuss the culinary customs of this gastronomically rich region.
During the class, the chef will tell us all the secrets of ancestral elaborations that are cooked in Galician kitchens to prepare popular recipes such as mussels, paella with squid and cockles, volandeiras with ham, and, of course, the famous Santiago cake.
After preparing each dish, we'll gather around the table to enjoy all the delicacies of Galician cuisine. Que aproveche as they say in Spain!
Schedule: Tuesday through Friday at 11:30 am
Cooking Workshop+ Market Shopping (3 hours)
With this option, we'll meet at the appointed time to head to the market in Lugo Square, one of the most traditional food shops in La Coruña. We'll explore the different stalls and see in detail the great variety of seafood and fish that comes straight from the sea, the essence of the Galician region in its purest form!
Plus, while shopping at the market in La Coruña, we'll go to the meat, sausage, fruit and vegetable stalls and choose the ingredients needed to prepare our dishes.
After shopping, we'll go directly to the kitchens to learn how to prepare traditional Galician recipes and later sit at the table and enjoy their delicious taste. Finger-licking good!
