If you're a history and nature enthusiast, this day trip to Mount Olympus and Dion is a must-see. Explore Greece's tallest mountain!

Day Trip to Mt. Olympus & Dion

We'll meet in front of the Statue of Eleftherios Venizelos in Thessaloniki and move to the west of the town.

After just an hour's drive, we'll pull up to the Dion archaeological site. An old spot from ancient Macedonian we'll see bits of an ancient theater, along with some temples and sanctuaries that have stood the test of time.

We'll continue our tour of the site, visiting the ruins of the Villa of Dionysos and the Dion Archaeological Museum, which houses an outstanding collection of classical sculptures. After learning fun facts about the art of that period, we'll explore the Hellenic country further.

Next up we'll visit Lithochorus, at the foot of the famous Mount Olympus. Standing tall at 2,918 meters (9,573 feet), it's the highest mountain in Greece! From the slopes of the so-called Mountain of the 12 gods, we'll walk about 20 minutes along the Enipeas River Gorge and soak in the beautiful views.

During the walk, we'll be treated to panoramic views of Mount Olympus and learn about the mythology surrounding this sacred mountain. We'll return to Lithochorus, where we'll go to a traditional Greek restaurant and you can enjoy lunch at your own pace.

After lunch, we'll return to the meeting point in Thessaloniki, arriving 8 hours later.
