Everest Base Camp Private Trek: 15 Days

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu

When your flight arrives, we'll meet you in the arrivals terminal of Tribhuvan International Airport to welcome you to Kathmandu. After meeting you, we'll get into a private car and drive to the hotel in the Nepalese capital where we'll spend the first 3 nights.

Once you've settled into your room, we'll head to a traditional restaurant for a delicious welcome dinner where we'll taste the best of Nepalese cuisine. At the end of the evening, you'll be escorted back to your hotel.

Day 2: Kathmandu

Good morning! We'll have breakfast at the hotel before starting our guided tour of Kathmandu. Later on, we'll spend the morning visiting some of the city's most iconic sites, such as Pashupatinath, Swayambhunath, Boudhanath and Kathmandu's Durbar Square. The latter is the most famous square in the city, as it has four of the capital's seven World Heritage monuments

After discovering these monuments and taking in the local culture, architecture and history, it'll be time for you to enjoy the Nepalese cuisine at your leisure in one of the restaurants in the centre of Kathmandu. We'll then reconvene and return to the hotel to get ready for the trekking route starting the next day. Afterwards, you can relax at the hotel or continue exploring Kathmandu on your own.

Day 3: Kathmandu - Lukla - Phakding

On our third day, we'll get up bright and early to travel to Tribhuvan International Airport by private car. From here, we'll take a 30-minute domestic flight to Lukla and admire the Nepalese mountain scenery from the skies.

When we get to Lukla, we'll meet the Sherpas who'll accompany us on our trekking route to the Everest Base Camp. We'll have a hearty breakfast in the area they live with the mountains as our backdrop. It'll then be time to trek to the Pasang Lhamo Memorial Gate after passing through the small village of Lukla.

Having made a brief stop for lunch, we'll continue walking to Phakding while taking in the spectacular views of the Kusum Kanguru Mountain and the Dhudh Koshi River.

Upon our arrival in Phakding, we'll settle into our accommodation and rest for a while. Afterwards, if you like, you can take a walk around the village of Phakding and even hike up to the nearby monasteries with your guide before dinner.

Day 4: Phakding - Sagarmatha National Park - Namche

After breakfast in Phakding, we'll continue our trekking route, this time heading north, and cross several bridges and a pine forest until we reach Monjo. Here, we'll complete the necessary formalities to enter the Sagarmatha National Park.

Once we're inside the park, we'll continue walking across bridges and through spectacular natural scenery along the Dudh Koshi River. This will be the moment when we'll see the breathtaking sight of Mount Everest for the first time up ahead. We'll then take a break for lunch in the middle of nature.

We'll then carry on hiking beside the Himalayas until we get to Namche, a small village where we'll spend the night. After getting comfortable in our cabins, you'll have some free time to explore Namche before having dinner and getting ready for bed.

Day 5: Namche and its surroundings

Rise and shine! We'll have breakfast and then spend the day hiking around Namche so we can get acclimatised to the mountainous area before climbing to Everest Base Camp.

We'll trek to Thame, an ancient Sherpa village located west of Namche at the foot of Kongde Ri Mountain. During our hike, we'll pass by picturesque villages such as Thomde, discover ancient Buddhist monasteries and enjoy nature and admire the region's spectacular scenery and wildlife.

After completing the trekking route, we'll return to Namche. You'll have some free time to immerse yourself in the culture of this town or relax in one of its cafes or restaurants. In the evening, we'll have a traditional dinner before resting at the lodge.

Day 6: Namche - Tengboche

Once we've fuelled up for the day with a hearty breakfast, we'll trek north along a path lined with Buddhist mani stones in Chhorkung. During our trek, we'll admire panoramic views of Thamserku, Amadablam, Lhotse and Everest before reaching the trail junction leading to the Gokyo Valley and Everest base camp at Sanasa.

From Sanasa, we'll follow the trail to the Everest Base Camp and pass through places such as Leushyasa and Phunki Thenga Bridge to Tengboche, where our accommodation awaits.

Having settled in at the Tengboche lodge, we'll take a guided walking tour of the famous Tengboche Monastery. During the tour, we'll discover the history of this place and marvel at the breathtaking panoramic views of Tawache, Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam and Thamserku from the monastic complex.

Day 7: Tengboche - Dingboche

On the seventh day of our trek, we'll walk through the local forests to the Chaturje Bridge, from which we'll begin our ascent to Orsho via Somare. From Orsho, after admiring the panoramic views, we'll continue our journey across the Khumbu River and walk along the banks of the Imja River until we reach Dingboche, the village where we'll spend the night

When we're all checked into the lodge, you'll have some free time to enjoy the surroundings of Dingboche before returning to the lodge for dinner and some rest.

Day 8: Dingboche

The eighth day will be the last day of acclimatisation before ascending to Everest Base Camp. After breakfast, you'll have the opportunity to choose between a half-day trek to Nangkar Tsang Gompa or a full-day trek to Chhukung

If you opt for the former, you'll see wonderful places such as Cholatse, Taboche and the lakes at the base of Ama Dablam. Should you go for the second route, you'll enjoy the mountain scenery of the upper Imja Valley region and, time permitting, even climb Chhukung Ri for a panoramic view of Ama Dablam, Baruntse and Makalu.

Day 9: Dingboche - Lobuche

We'll have breakfast and start our ascent to Everest Base Camp through the villages of Dusa and Palrung Kharka to Dughla. Later on, we'll climb the Khumbu Glacier and continue walking through this mountainous region until we reach a series of monuments. These monuments have been dedicated to famous climbers and Sherpas such as Babu Chiri Sherpa and Scott Fisher, whose story was told in the 2015 film Everest

The ascent will then become a lot harder and more demanding, which will be worth it when we reach Lobuche and check into our accommodation to get some rest. Once you've got a little more energy, you'll have the chance to climb the ridge to the east of Lobuche to admire the excellent panoramic views of the Khumbu Glacier and the Nuptse and Lhotse mountains. You can also hike to the famous Italian Pyramid, which is a scientific research centre, if you'd prefer.

Day 10: Lobuche - Everest Base Camp - Gorak Shep

Today's the day! We'll have breakfast and set off northbound for the Everest Base Camp via a narrow path along the Khumbu Glacier. Here, we'll need to tackle some vertical climbs of moderate difficulty. It'll all be worth the effort when we get to the frozen Gorak Shep lake, where we'll stop for lunch while admiring views of the Changtse, Khumbutse, Lingtren and Pumori peaks

After lunch, we'll return to the Khumbu Glacier to ascend to the Khumbu Icefall. The colourful flags will then come into sight and we'll know we've reached the base camp. After taking lots of photos and celebrating this moment, we'll make our way back down to Gorak Shep to check into the lodge where we'll spend the night.

Day 11: Gorak Shep - Kala Pattar - Pheriche

First thing in the morning, we'll get up and start a 2-hour climb to the Kala Pattar viewpoint, which will give us one of the best moments of our trip: watching the sunrise over Mount Everest. The glow of the Himalayan mountains at sunrise will be a truly unforgettable memory! In addition, the visit to the Kala Pattar viewpoint will also be the highlight of our trekking route, as it'll be the highest altitude point of the entire circuit at a staggering 18,192 feet (5,545 metres).

After marvelling at this natural phenomenon and snapping lots of photos, we'll return to Gorakshep for breakfast and start the descent to the village of Dhugla, past Lobuche. Perhaps we'll see a yak or two!

Once in Dhugla, we'll cross a glacial stream to continue our journey to Pheriche, the place where we'll spend the night after an intense, unique and unforgettable day.

Day 12: Pheriche - Namche

In the morning, we'll have breakfast at the Pheriche lodge before heading down to Chuto. From there, we'll walk back along some of the trails we already know but in the opposite direction, passing through places like Tengboche, Pangboche and Deboche until we reach Namche, one of the main meeting points for all those who want to enjoy mountaineering in the Himalayas.

After checking in at the lodge in Namche, you'll have some free time to relax or enjoy the surroundings at your leisure.

Day 13: Namche - Lukla

Bright and early in the morning, we'll have a tasty breakfast before continuing with our trek. Later on, we'll walk down the Larja Bridge and admire views of Mount Everest for the last time.

After walking for several miles, we'll get to Phakding, the village where we'll stop for lunch. Once we've eaten, we'll continue our trekking route to Lukla. When we get there, we'll go to the lodge so you can rest or explore this popular Nepalese mountaineering town at your leisure.

Day 14: Lukla - Kathmandu

We'll have breakfast and then bid farewell to the Khumbu region and take a domestic flight from Lukla to Kathmandu. Once we've touched down in the Nepalese capital, a private car will take us from the arrivals terminal to your hotel in Kathmandu.

You'll have the rest of the day free to travel around the Nepalese capital and discover some of the sights you may have missed at the beginning of the trip. At nightfall, we'll gather for a farewell dinner with some delicious Nepalese cuisine while chatting about the memories we've shared over the last 2 weeks.

Day 15: Kathmandu

On the final day of our adventure, we'll have breakfast and take you to Tribhuvan International Airport in plenty of time for your flight back home.
