Kathmandu Spiritual Tour Itinerary
On the day of your tour, you'll meet your guide at 3 pm at the Hotel Marshyangdi in Kathmandu, where you'll climb on board a public bus and head to Boudhanath Stupa, the biggest of its kind in Nepal, where you'll follow the faithful pilgrims as they turn the prayer wheels. Do you have any prayers for Buddha? You'll have the chance to light a butter lamp, which are said to focus the mind and improve Buddhist meditation techniques, as well as talking to some of the monks at the temple complex.
After this first spiritual experience, you'll hop back onto a public bus in the direction of Pashupatinath, one of the world's most important Hindu temples. Here, you'll begin your learning of this religion, as your guide introduces you to the Hindu perspective on the cycle of birth and death. As you explore the sacred temple complex, which is built in pagoda style, you'll discover the story of the Sadhus, holy people who have renounced their worldly lives.
As the sun begins to set, you'll enjoy a peaceful stroll to the banks of the sacred Bagmati River, where you'll have the opportunity to attend a cremation ceremony, one of the most traditional rituals of Hinduism.
