Guided Tour of Kathmandu
At the indicated time, we'll pick you up at your hotel to start this guided tour of Kathmandu. Ready to discover the wonders of the capital of Nepal?
First, we'll visit the Ason Market, where we'll see stores run by the Newari community, temples, and shrines. It'll seem as if you've gone back in time!
Then we'll go to Durbar Square, where we'll see more temples and observe the Kumari, the living goddesses of Nepal. These are young girls who are considered reincarnations of the goddess Taleju until they reach adolescence.
The tour will then stop at the Nine Floors Palace, and then cross the suspension bridge over the Bishnumati River.
Next, we'll walk uphill to the Swyambhunath or Monkey Temple, where hundreds of these primates live. From the hill where the sanctuary is located, we'll enjoy beautiful views of the Himalayas and the Kathmandu Valley.
After the visit to the temple, we'll descend and follow a path that'll take us to the sacred place where cremation rituals are performed, on the banks of the river.
Finally, we'll say our goodbyes at a central point.
