Pink Wednesday – Join the fight against breast cancer with Civitatis!

Every year, on October 19, we celebrate International Breast Cancer Day, a disease that afflicts over 33,000 women a year in our country. In Civitatis, we are committed to the fight against cancer and, therefore, for this cause, we want to ‘go pink’ and donate 1% of sales on October 19 to the CRIS Foundation against cancer.

The Pink Tuesday campaign is in charge of raising funds to continue research on the different treatments for this disease. By booking tours, visits, and excursions on our website, you will be contributing to fund the CRIS projects against cancer.

The foundation supports the Cancer Research Center in Salamanca and the Albacete University Hospital Complex. These two entities are conducting research work to find new therapies for breast and ovarian cancer.

Moreover, some of the projects being carried out are treatments against triple-negative tumors, resistance to HER2-positive tumors, personalized cell therapies, or the study of immune alterations that cause metastasis in triple-negative tumors.

There is also a new treatment that focuses on other patient variables, such as mood, quality of sleep, or diet. All the information gathered will be used to create a virtual twin of the afflicted person in order to analyze different results. This is one of the latest high-definition oncology, which is yielding very promising results.

Breast cancer is a matter that concerns all of us and, thanks to the scientific community, great advances can be made to eradicate this widespread disease that affects so many women in the world. The CRIS Foundation against cancer aims to overcome the 80% survival rate and reach 100%. In order to achieve this goal, it is necessary to continue developing less invasive treatments for aggressive breast cancers. The NGO is also deeply committed to providing relevant information about cancer prevention.
