1. Universal Studios Japan, Osaka

First up on our list, Universal Studios Japan (often referred to as USJ), is an absolute must for any theme park enthusiast, and anyone visiting Osaka. This expansive, immersive park is divided into 10 sections, including Hollywood, Jurassic Park, the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, and Super Nintendo World. The best part? You can easily grab a ticket to Universal Studios Japan with Civitatis.

If you’re a fan of the Harry Potter series, you’ll love exploring Hogsmeade Village™, which features such shops as Ollivanders and Honeydukes. Also, enjoy stunning recreations of Hogwarts Castle, and even Hagrid’s Hut. In terms of rollercoasters, enjoy Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey and Flight of the Hippogriff, each of which allows you to feel the magic of the Harry Potter universe as you’ve always dreamed it!

Our favorite part of the park however was Super Nintendo World™. Walking around in Super Nintendo World makes you feel like you’re in a game, creating an experience that is absolutely surreal. See Bowser’s Castle, punch question boxes, buy some really cool merchandise, and much more! 

How to get there: You can easily access the park via train or bus from Kansai Airport or Osaka Station.

Important: Please note that to enter Super Nintendo World™ you need to obtain an ‘Area Timed Ticket’ for free once you’ve entered the park, using the official Universal app. Alternatively, you can purchase an express pass prior to your visit. However, if you’re getting your ticket in the park, be sure to arrive early, as they’re limited!

2. Disneyland Paris®

Next up on our list, we’re heading to Disneyland Paris®, also known as the ‘Happiest Place on Earth’! A paradise for fans of the Disney universe, but also a fantastic place for thrill seekers, or families looking to spend an unforgettable time together. Disneyland Paris consists of two park, Disneyland Park and Walt Disney Studios Park. Disneyland Park consists of five themed lands and Walt Disney Park has four themed zones, all of which can be explored sufficiently in one or two days—check out your ticketing options for Disneyland Paris with Civitatis.

Marvel at the classic Sleeping Beauty Castle at the end of Main Street USA, ride the epic Star Wars: Hyperspace Mountain, or the adventurous Indiana Jones and the Temple of Peril. How to get there: Disneyland Paris is very accessible and can be reached by shuttle bus from Paris-Orly and Paris-Charles De Gaulle airports, or by the TGV (high-speed train) from Paris-Charle De Gaulle. From the city center, the park is a 40-minute train ride away, and can also be visited as part of this Disneyland® Paris Day Trip.

3. The Land of Legends Belek, Antalya

Next, we’re heading to Turkey, to the Land of Legends Park, located in Turkey’s Antalya region, just 40 minutes outside of the city. The Land of Legends, originally a water park, is a fantastic, action-packed park, featuring adrenaline-pumping water rides, gigantic rollercoasters, interactive experiences, and dazzling shows. One can easily spend a few days exploring The Land of Legends, 

For thrill-seekers, check out the Hyper Coaster, the crown jewel of the park’s adrenaline experiences, reaching speeds of over 70 mph (112 kph). There are also lots of rides that appeal to kids/families, most notably Masha and the Bear’s Little House, which features a lovely merry-go-round!

4. Walt Disney World® Resort Orlando, Florida

Perhaps the ultimate Disney destination, Walt Disney World in Orlando is the most famous, expansive, and, we’ll say it, magical Disney park in the world. Comprising multiple theme parks including Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios, and Animal Kingdom. It offers endless opportunities for fun, nostalgia, and adventure. Whether you’re meeting Mickey Mouse, soaring on Space Mountain, or exploring Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, Disney World is an experience like no other.

An underrated element of Disney World® Orlando is the many shows that are put on throughout the day—always featuring fantastic sets, costumes, and music. How to get there: There are lots of ways of getting to the Walt Disney World Resort, including bus, boat, Skyliner, and monorail.

5. Six Flags Mexico City

For adrenaline lovers, Six Flags Mexico might be your best bet. The biggest amusement park in Mexico City, the first Six Flags to open outside of the USA, and the most visited theme park in Latin America, Six Flags Mexico City is known for its heart-racing roller coasters, including some of the tallest and fastest in the region.

The areas in this park include Pueblo Mexicano (Mexican Village), Villa Hollywood, Pueblo Francés (French Village), DC Super Friends, Pueblo Polinesio (Polynesian Village), and Pueblo Vaquero (Cowboy Village). In these areas, you’ll find attractions tailored to both thrill-seekers and families, as well as a variety of shows and entertainment. Get a ticket to Six Flags Mexico City.

A key highlight of the park (best suited for adrenaline junkies) is the Superman El Ultimo Escape, which, which slowly brings you up to a peak that provides incredible views of Mexico City, before taking you through a double helix, lots of laterals, and high speeds! Another highlight is the fantastic Batman The Ride.

How to get there: From Metro Universidad, you can get to Six Flags on the Cruz Del Farol microbes in about 40 minutes. Alternatively, grab the RTP bus (13-A) from Metro Miguel Ángel de Quevedo, which takes about 45 minutes.

6. Tivoli Gardens, Copenhagen

The oldest amusement park in Denmark, dating back to 1843, Tivoli Gardens is a must-visit attraction in the heart of the Danish capital city of Copenhagen. Tivoli Gardens is a historic landmark, famous for its beautiful grounds and its wooden roller coaster, Rutschebanen. Also known as Bjergbanen (The Mountain Coaster), this ride was built in 1914 and is still in operation today, making it one of the oldest wooden coasters still in operation. Another highlight of the park is the Demon (Dæmonen).

While Tivoli Gardens has very few coasters (currently 4 in total), and a good few family rides and attractions. This park isn’t necessarily for the thrill seekers, but it provides a special, unique park experience, right in the center of the city, thanks to its gardens, theaters, restaurants, and indeed, roller coasters. At night, the park lights up beautifully, creating a magical atmosphere.

7. Thorpe Park, Chertsey

Next on our list is the notorious Thorpe Park, the UK’s finest theme park, home to 5 of the top-ranked rollercoasters in the country. A thrill-seeker’s paradise (and also great for families with younger kids), Thorpe Park’s most famous rides include Nemesis Inferno which takes you on a ride through a volcano, the Swarm, SAW – The Ride, which was the world’s first horror themed roller coaster, and Stealth, a 205ft (62 meters) and with a 2.3 second 0-80 mph (129 kmph) launch. Grab a ticket to Thorpe Park to experience it yourself!

How to get there: From London, Thorpe Park is less than an hour’s drive. You can also get there via public transport, but expect it to take around 2 hours.

8. Beto Carrero World, Santa Catarina

The largest theme park in Latin America, Beto Carrero World, offers a diverse array of attractions, including exciting rides, themed areas, and live performances. We recommend arriving early in the morning and checking out rollercoasters like FireWhip, and Star Mountain. We’d also recommend taking some time to explore the mystical Pirate Island and catching the medieval show and lunch (Excalibur). 9. Disneyland Hong Kong®

Though smaller than other Disney parks (you can easily get through the best bits in around a day), Disneyland Hong Kong® provides an unforgettable experience. With classic rides, dazzling parades, and the unique Mystic Manor, this park offers a special twist on the beloved Disney magic. Grab a ticket to Disneyland Hong Kong to experience the Disney rides you know and love, from Hyperspace Mountain to Toy Story Land.

In Disneyland Hong Kong, check out the World of Frozen (the most popular and generally busiest part of the park), Mystic Manor (a fantastic haunted house), and Big Grizzly Mountain, the most thrilling ride in the park.

How to get there: Disneyland Hong Kong® is located on Lantau Island, not far from Hong Kong Airport. It’s also easily accessible from the Hong Kong city center and Kowloon in less than an hour on the MTR.

10. Parque Warner Madrid

One of Europe’s most exciting theme parks, Parque Warner Madrid can be found just outside Madrid’s city center and brings the world of Warner Bros. to life. Featuring thrilling roller coasters, Looney Tunes-themed rides, and DC Comics attractions, it’s perfect for families and adventure seekers alike.

For us, the most exciting ride is undoubtedly the Stunt Fall, a ride that reaches over 210 feet (65 meters), and a speed of over 70 mph (115 kmph). Kids will enjoy Cartoon Village, where all of our favorite Looney Tunes characters and sets come to life.
